Youth Services Programming
Born to Read: Mondays, 10:30 – 11:00 am
Experience songs and stories together to help your baby learn sounds, language, and a love of books. Connect with other parents and caregivers. For babies, birth–18 months.
Family Storytime: Tuesdays, 6:00 – 6:45 pm
We will share stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and more to help your child build their skills and be ready to succeed at whatever is next. For families with children of all ages.
Toddler Storytime: Wednesdays, 10:30–11:15 am
Songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and stories help toddlers to develop a love of reading. Adults learn tips and tricks to continue teaching at home. For toddlers, ages 19–35 months.
Preschool Storytime: Fridays, 10:30 – 11:15 am
Songs, rhymes, and stories help your child develop a love of reading and build early learning skills that will help your child succeed. Adults learn tips and tricks to continue teaching at home too. For preschoolers, 3–5 years.
Online Book Club | Sundays at 2PM
Join us for the month of April as we read and discuss the novel The Mountains Sing by Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai. Our book club pick is an epic family saga and their experiences in 20th Century Việt Nam based on over six years of research and personal experiences of the author.
Ages: 18+. Registration not required.
Armchair Traveler Series | Mondays at 11AM
We’re taking our Armchair Traveler program online! Each month The Library will explore a different worldly destination in a series of posts on The Library’s blog, Beyond the Shelves. Learn about history and culture, take virtual tours, and get book, movie and music recommendations each week!

Bookish Film & TV Discussion | Wednesdays at 2PM
Chat with other Library members on Wednesday afternoons about bookish film and tv! Debate about the best and worst book-to-film adaptations, share your favorites, and get suggestions for your next movie night in.
Mid-Day Getaway | Fridays at 1PM
Check out our weekly videos created by Library staff. From cooking tutorials, to craft demonstrations, to mini music concerts, take time out of your Friday to destress and get ready for the weekend ahead.

The Library’s Card Party
This activity is great for all ages – participate alone or as a family!
You may not know this, but The Library works with several nursing homes throughout Dauphin County by providing programs and replenishing their libraries with books for the residents to enjoy.
Because we're under a stay-at-home order, many – if not all – nursing facilities are not allowing visitors to see their loved ones. We invite you to take this opportunity to reach out to the residents at two of the nursing homes we visit and let them know you are thinking of them.
Get as creative as you'd like – send a homemade card or colorful bookmark, or just send a note to make their day. You might include poems or song lyrics and ask them to come up with their own tune, or send pictures with descriptions.
Think about what you would like to receive if you couldn't see your loved ones. Send something that will put a smile on their face or make them laugh out loud. They would appreciate the kindness.
