Body Positive Fitness and Movement: Enjoy Moving Your Body

HARRISBURG, Pa.— Women and girls are bombarded with message that they must fit a certain beauty standard to be “worthy” of success and happiness. Join The Library as we counter the negativity with a summer series aiming to help women build a positive relationship with their bodies, the food they eat, and the way their bodies move.

Whether it’s yoga, dance, strength training or breathing techniques, moving your body can and should be something you enjoy. During Body Positive Fitness and Movement, fitness instructor Jessie Stipe will introduce you to several fitness ideas that will help you embrace what your body can do. After a short discussion about the benefits of movement, there will be an interactive exercise demo. A waiver must be signed before participating in the demo.

Body Positive Fitness and Movement will be held at the following locations:

Saturday, August 4 at 11:00 am
East Shore Area Library, 4501 Ethel St, Harrisburg

Tuesday, August 7 at 6:30 pm

Elizabethville Area Library, 80 N. Market St, Elizabethville

These programs are designed for adults and older teens, ages 16 and older. Space is limited to allow for a more personalized learning experience. Save your spot or learn more about the series by visiting or by calling (717) 652-9380 ext. 1045. Funding support is provided by the Mary Sachs Charitable Trust.
